6 and Half Years Later

The impact of Hurricane Katrina is still readily apparent in this image of a former seafood processing plant six and half years later.

This building is the closest structure to the Gulf of Mexico and still standing in Bayou La Batre, Alabama.

You can see the how high the water rose by the way the lower sheet metal panels on the building are bent inwards. The height of the water was approximately 10 feet (3 meters) above the ground.
